Being a Writer
Many have a reason to write. Everyone has a story or two they want to share with the world. Some have begun a draft already, others have completed a manuscript. Still, for others, an idea is still forming a story in the mind. I can help make dreams in writing and publication a reality.
Writer’s Workshop
A workshop for writing practice and critique. Spend two hours a month reviewing writing assignments, learning and practicing writing techniques and developing your own unique style. Learn how to publish your work and how to get the attention of editors and publishers.
Workshops meet weekly in small groups. If you're interested, send a bio or cv and two writing samples in order to reserve a space. Groups form regularly.
Individual Consultation
Hire me to review and critique writing samples in a one on one consultation appointment. Learn strategies for developing your writing and promote yourself for publication. Whether you wish to publish a book, articles for magazines or launch a blog. Talk through roadblocks and brainstorm incomplete concepts. If you have a manuscript, academic paper, article or other idea that you would like to publish, you may need writing coach to bring it to completion. Rates and contract terms are negotiated before work begins. Appointments depend upon availability. Hourly rates apply.
Corporate Consultation
Good writing is an essential part of any business marketing strategy. Writers are often hired to churn out creative and articulate promotional pieces. These employees need tools, such as updated resources, techniques and styleguides to help them overcome obstacles of ‘forced creativity’. Publication Consultation
Publications deal with specific barriers when managing content. A delicate balance must be kept in regards to creative, informative and advertorial writing. Style and technique recommend a creative balance in written content. I can evaluate your publication and recommend stylistic changes to improve the overall appeal for readers and advertisers.
Students
Writing in school is unavoidable. Regardless of degree, school, or area of study, communication through writing is necessary. I can coach students through assignments, research, theory development and thesis/dissertation proposals.
